Lord Dying To Bring Skull-Craking Caveman Metal To Roadburn Festival 2014
If there’s one thing that unites everyone at Roadburn it’s riffs. They LOVE them. Great big fat, juicy riffs, dripping with attitude and drenched in feedback, it’s fair to say that they like a riff that they can really sink their teeth into.
Portland, Oregon hessians Lord Dying have knocked-out some of the tastiest, meatiest, riffs of recent times via their skull-cracking caveman metal debut album Summon The Faithless (out on Relapse Records), and so it is that they’re beyond stoked to announce that they will be playing Roadburn 2014 on Thursday, April 10th at the 013 venue in Tilburg, Holland.
Summon The Faithless is a brutalist primitive take on the doomed fist-pounding head-banging mania of High On Fire, suffused with the rusty razor edge of early death metal. Scything, bludgeoning guitars rip and tear through flesh and bone as frontman Erik Olson spits bile like the bastard offspring of Cronos and Matt Pike.
Raging bangers like In A Frightful State Of Gnawed Dismemberment, Descend Into External and Summon The Faithless itself are sure to lay total waste to the 013 venue and leave you dazed, confused and heavily concussed.
