Video Premiere: Sheverb ‘Rattle Can Thrash’

Introducing Sheverb, a band I became aware of through Brad at Desert Records when we recently premiered Mescaline Prayer Song by singer songwriter Betty Benedeadly. But what is the connection? Well Betty also happens to be the guitarist from this instrument psych surf rock quintet, whose heart and soul well and truly belongs in the sun kissed desert.

Sheverb

Admittedly, they’re not the usual Shaman fodder, but who cares when a band rock this much, so it’s with great pleasure we can bring you their new trippy video for the track Rattle Can Thrash that’s taken from 2020s Once Upon A Time In Bombay Beach. But before you click play, I have a question for you to ponder over, is that snake around Lainey’s neck real? Answers on a postcard…

More On Sheverb & ‘Once Upon A Time In Bombay Beach’

Sheverb is a womxn-led, collectively run, psychedelic rock & roll band based in Austin, TX. Armed with their instruments, this tribe is out to challenge our understanding of the romanticized Wild West with their desert-fueled, surf-infused sound.

Sheverb

For one month, Sheverb dropped out of the daily grind in Austin, TX to live together in a semi-abandoned seaside resort town in the Southern California desert. They collectively wrote and recorded 9 surf-infused, desert-fueled rock & roll tracks, and captured the field recordings that are layered into the psychedelic, instrumental music. The Full Experience (bonus track with seperate art) is a single, continuous track version of this concept album meant for a deep listening experience. Ambient sounds from Bombay Beach transition between tracks to create a journey through our time in this magical place.
