Video Premiere: Travo ‘Faceless Ghoul’ – New Album ‘Astromorph God’ Drops 17th November

Braga, Portugal’s four-piece powerhouse Travo have been treading the boards for a few years now with their trippy take on psych, prog and heavy rock and to our shame, this is regrettably the first time they’ve featured on these hallowed pages, but hey, isn’t it better to be late to the party than not show at all?

With that in mind, when Spinda Records head honcho Berto Cáceres reached out to The Shaman, firstly to inform us about their new album, Astromorph God, which releases 17th November in conjunction with Gig.Rocks!, and secondly about the possibility of premiering the space warlords’ new video for the exquisite seven-and-a-half-minute track Faceless Ghoul.

As soon as we clicked played, we were mesmerised, not only by the audio sonics on offer but also the stunning visuals that were created by Álvaro Reis and Miguel Lobo and from that moment, it was impossible to refuse. Now click play below and look into the soul of the Faceless Ghoul

More On Travo & ‘Astromorph God’

Hailing from the soul-stirring city of Braga in Portugal, Travo is a relentless four-piece powerhouse, commanding attention with their unique fusion of high-octane heavy psych, prog-rock, trash-metal and an unapologetic in-your-face garage rock attitude.

After self-releasing the EP n’O SILO (2018) and their debut album Ano Luz (2019), the band signed by Braga-based label Gig.Rocks! (Gator, the alligator, Madmess, Unsafe Space Garden), putting out their sophomore studio album Sinking Creation in 2022. This release placed Travo on the forefront of the Portuguese scene, allowing the band also to start touring Europe.

Sinking Creation birthed a revolution of raw, unadulterated sound that they’ve since wielded like a sonic weapon, becoming favourite for fans of King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard, Osees, Slift, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Wine Lips or Elder.

Travo‘s unmistakable essence is forged at their live shows, where boundaries between reality and collective ecstasy blur. Their live performances transcend mere concerts; they’re volcanic eruptions of rock and roll energy; captivating the audience with intense rhythm bases, guttural cries and electrifying guitar riffs, making every date a visceral experience, a testament to their ethos.

In a time when authenticity is a rarity, Travo is a blazing comet of unapologetic sound. For their upcoming album Astromorph God – out on November 17th – Gig.Rocks! join forces with Andalusian indie label Spinda Records (Moura, Fin del Mundo, Maragda, Bismut) for global distribution, to put out an album in which the band promises to redefine their sonic frontiers yet again.
