Coming from a long line of successful Devilles (C.C. DeVille, the Cadillac Coupe deVille, Cruella DeVil, and many many more), Malmo, Sweden’s finest new purveyors of good-time groove are here to simply rock your spots off!
Having been picked up and added to Small Stone Records’ outstanding roster of stoner, retro and hard rock outfits, Deville fit the SS template in every department. Their mammoth, driving surges of riffage blend the simple textbook grooves of Fu Manchu, the biker-punk fury of Unida or Orange Goblin and weld it to the chassis of the new generation of Swedish desert rock that’s thrust the likes of Truckfighters and Fireball Ministry to prominence. A dynamic fourpiece with crunching dual guitar action, Deville boast a debut of catchy choruses amid slabs of steel in ‘Come Heavy Sleep’ and a brooding, smoke-billowing sophomore follow-up record in ‘Hail the Black Sky’. The best is yet to come though and I assure you that if you haven’t already heard the tracks available online from their up-coming album no.3 ‘Hydra’, then you need to wrap your ears around this killer March-released record, pronto!
Desertfest are chuffed to the very edges of our cacti fields to have Deville perform live in the UK for the very first time as part of DesertFest 2013. So grab your Poison shirt, your dalmatian-print fur coat and hop in your favourite 1960s Caddie and rock out Deville style this coming March in Camden! Woof!
Desertfest 2013 takes place between 26th – 28th April 2013 over 4 venues in Camden, London and tickets are available at Leedstickets.com.
