AUTHOR & PUNISHER: 2014 Live Assaults To Commence This Sunday
AUTHOR & PUNISHER will bring the steel to the stage this Sunday in Los Angeles for the first of two performances supporting audio terrorists, Corrections House. The show marks the first of a three-week journey that will find AUTHOR & PUNISHER – the gargantuan sound manipulations of one Tristan Shone – again rupturing pavement alongside Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals on the second leg of the Technicians Of Distortion Tour. The chaos will rise on January 10th in Houston, Texas and head westward, leveling more than a dozen cities. Additional support will be provided by Hymns.
AUTHOR & PUNISHER continues to tour in support of the mammoth Women & Children full-length, released last year via Seventh Rule Recordings. Commended by Cvlt Nation for manifesting “the perfect blend of man and machine,” who furthers, “Shone crafts a truly dense and unbridled set of doom and drove-inspired music, all of which is accompanied by a visceral, emotionally-rich live performance,” the record continues to floor fans and critics nationwide and abroad for its disturbingly poignant brand of industrial doom. In employing primarily custom designed and fabricated machines, speakers and various devices that draw heavily on aspects of industrial automation and robotics, Shone – who boasts a BS in mechanical engineering and an MFA in visual arts — manages to replicate dejection, desperation and earthly doom through sound with curious poise. On his latest run of audio demonstrations, Shone will road-test a new set of electromechanical vocal manipulation masks and devices, which have yet to be engaged live.
