Through The Lens: Bongzilla / Nxmad / Dwingle @ The Bread Shed, Manchester, 16th June 2023

Back in June, which also turned out to be one of the hottest days of the year so far, we set up a Meet & Greet with stoner sludge stalwarts Bongzilla over at the North West’s, if not the UK’s, leading Head Shop, Manchester Seeds so our thanks go out to Nathan and Steven who helped make this happen and gave the band a warm welcome after their long journey.

Then that night, the Heavy Psych Sounds trio, who were touring to support their latest long player Dab City, hit The Bread Shed in the heart of Manchester’s city centre for an awesome night of sludge, stoner and doom riffs. Support was from local heavyweights, and APF Records alumni Nxmad, who recently changed the spelling of their moniker from Nomad and openers Dwingle who are a new name to us at The Shaman, but a band to keep an eye on with their sludge induced metal.
