Through The Lens: Author & Punisher / Zetra @ The Deaf Institute, Manchester, 21st Feb 2023

On a dark and dank Tuesday night in Manchester, our editor in chief took a trip down to The Deaf Institute with camera in hand to catch up with Tristan Shone as he performed with his drone machines under his alter ego Author & Punisher, a project we’ve long supported on these hallowed pages.

Opening the night was the UK’s Zetra who certainly got the crowd warmed up with their gothic and coldwave sonics, before Shone, who for this tour was joined on guitar by Doug Sabolick, a name you might recognise from his main band Ecstatic Vision, and the obliteration the dynamic duo unleashed was simply monolithic.
