Video Premiere: Remote Viewing ‘Your Opinion Is Wrong’ – From New Album ‘Modern Addictions’

Although Remote Viewing have been around for a handful of years, they’re a new name to us here at Shaman HQ, which, and to quote one of the worst people to sit in 10 Downing Street, THAT IS A DISGRACE. When Owen Gildersleeve from Human Worth asked us if we could premiere their new track Your Opinion Is Wrong, it blew my tiny mind to smithereens with its frantic sludge and noise-rock.

Taken from their album Modern Addictions, that’s set to be released February 2023 by Human Worth, with pre-sales starting this Friday, 2nd December, and as with all their releases, 10% of proceeds will be donated to the amazing charity The Trussell Trust. As for the track, Your Opinion Is Wrong, this near five-minute behemoth also features Amée Chanter of punk noiseniks Human Leather on guest vocals, giving it a third dimension into the misery they create.

More On Remote Viewing & ‘Modern Addictions’

Remote Viewing has been grinding out discordant and experimental sludge rock since its inception in the winter of 2016. Featuring members of Palehorse, Million Dead, Sly & The Family Drone, Nitkowski and Wound (to name but a few) the band are no strangers to making heavy music, but with Remote Viewing demonstrate an even broader sound that incorporates elements of hardcore, post-rock and shoegaze into the palette of sludge and noise-rock.

Their latest offering Modern Addictions was recorded and mixed at Bear Bites Horse studios in April 2022 with Wayne Adams (Petbrick, Big Lad, Cower) behind the console and mastered by Stephen Kerrison (ANTA) at Tall Trees Audio Mastering.

About the album, the band says, Modern Addictions is the sound of drinking a cocktail behind a two-way mirror. You’re enjoying the taste, but you can’t help but feel you’re being watched. Perhaps your life is under threat. Perhaps not. Just drink up. I’m sure everything’ll be fine.’
