Oakland Rockers LECHEROUS GAZE To Release New LP ‘Zeta Reticuli Blues’ On June 17 Via Tee Pee
Oakland, California’s LECHEROUS GAZE will release its new album ‘Zeta Reticuli Blues‘ on June 17 via Tee Pee Records. Recorded at Earhammer Studios (High on Fire, Hot Lunch), ‘Zeta Reticuli Blues‘ delivers ten uber-memorable tracks that showcase the sizzling six-string sonics of Graham Clise (also of Witch), the band’s Sabbath-tight rhythm section and the sneering snarl of vocalist Zaryan Zaidi. ‘Zeta Reticuli Blues‘ is the follow up to LECHEROUS GAZE‘s full length debut, On the Skids, which was hailed as one of the “Best Bay Area Metal Albums of 2012” by SF Weekly.
LECHEROUS GAZE was formed in 2010 by former Annihilation Time members Graham Clise (guitar), Chris Grande (bass) and Noel Sullivan (drums). Inspired by “Chuck Berry, the Damned and most stuff that came in between,” LECHEROUS GAZE play — in their own words — “Psycho-delic shred-tastic ultra-hyphened rock-punk heavy jams.” We call it punked-up, psychedelically-tinged rock and roll; a smash-up of ’60s and ’70s hard rock, punk and metal influences (think: MC5 to Black Sabbath to AC/DC to the Ramones), fast and to the point.
‘Zeta Reticuli Blues‘ is the band’s second full length LP, following On the Skids, 2011′s self-titled EP and split releases with Earthless, Hot Lunch and Danava, among others. In addition to the 9 new tracks, the new album features LECHEROUS GAZE‘s spicy spin on Delta blues musician Big Joe Williams‘ legendary 1935 hit ‘Baby Please Don’t Go‘. Out-of-this-world cover art from American science fiction illustrator and Science Fiction Hall of Fame member Richard M. Powers absolutely adds to ‘Zeta Reticuli Blues‘ overall awesomeness!
