Get On The Highway To Hull At DesertFest London 2014

I’m not sure that this Brooklyn, New York based band ever realised just how perfect a moniker they had settled on to describe their vast, apocalyptic wasteland of noise, but four-piece sludgesters Hull most certainly have an accurate label for their dirty, destructive and desolate sound.

At their heaviest, a wall of pure crunch and a roaring of vocals, mixed in with a lighter side of melodious tone, Hull are a band that delight in kicking your eardrums in with monstrous, sludgy aggression before lulling you back into a false sense of harmonious ease. Coming off the back of two rampaging full lengths – ‘Sole Lord’ and ‘Beyond the Lightless Sky’ – as well as the recently reissued, stellar EP ‘Viking Funeral’, Hull’s onslaught is expected to continue with another, highly anticipated, full-length later this year.

In the meantime, get ready to ride into the gates of Hull at DesertFest 2014.
