Premiere: Wytch ‘Black Hole’ – Debut ‘Exordium’ Drops 21st May via Ripple Music
Introducing Wytch, a heavy rock quintet outta Skellefteå, Sweden and are the latest signing to join the Ripple Music family. Originally going under the moniker of Aska, but with an album ready and a record deal in place, the band, late last year, changed their name to Wytch, and with it, the announcement they’ll release their debut eight tracker Exordium on the 21st May.
Now today, it’s our absolute pleasure to bring you the first single, Black Hole, which the band describes as a ‘straightforward no-nonsense heavy rock ‘n roll song about reaching the breaking point and trying to get back alive’, with that said, I don’t think there’s anything else to add except press play below…
More On Wytch & ‘Exordium’
Wytch started under the name Aska in the spring of 2016 in Skellefteå, Sweden. The members come from different musical backgrounds, being formerly of the likes of Otyg, The Spacious Mind, TME, Vintersorg and Stardog. In 2017 the band released a four song EP, as Aska. In October 2020 the band got signed to Ripple Music and changed their name to Wytch – a heavy rock five piece that is about to release their first full length album, Exordium.

‘Exordium is about the darker side of life, love and even death. The sound ranges from soft and mellow to almost punk rock, and you can definitely call it heavy rock. There’s no intentional flirtation with the 70s, or any other specific era for that matter, we just played whatever we felt like. No boundaries. Oh, and the album was recorded without a click track and maybe that added some authenticity and honesty to it.’
