Following on from the release of their sophomore album About The Dead late last year via Consouling Sounds, Belgium post-metal sludge deviants Throatsnapper today unveil a new video from the six tracker, with the six minute From Wood To Gallows.
Filmed and edited by Goolaerts Wouter, with special thanks to Laurence Janssens, the haunting black and white video for this transcendent and multi layered track can be streamed below, and to purchase About The Dead head over the Consouling Sounds webstore.
More On Throatsnapper & ‘About The Dead’
Consouling Sounds is proud to add another promising Belgian group to their already incredible rooster, this time a young four-piece group called Throatsnapper. Playing a blend of heavy sludge with a dark and anguished doom-metal, Throatsnapper released their second full-length album About The Dead, nearly four years following their debut with a self-titled album.
Recorded at Much Luv Studios (Brutus, Barst, Throane, Treha Sektori) and mastered by Maurice de Jong (Gnaw their Tongues), About The Dead offers six tracks full of heavy, distorted riffs coupled with pummelling drums and anguished vocals that create a truly dark and decadent atmosphere.
The band comments…
‘Right after the recordings of our debut EP in 2015, we started writing songs which later will form the About The Dead album. In contrast with the EP, the songs became more melodic, yet the sludge feeling keeping in mind, evolving to a more doom / post-metal sub-genre. Every song has his own identity, but forms a unique sound remarkable for Throatsnapper. It took about three years. This shows a well thought writing process, for approximately 37 minutes, six songs of grief. Yes, grief. Every song and their lyrics are based on those for the band members important persons who followed their path, which is set, leading to death.’
