Video Premiere: Louse ‘You Don’t Eat The Bull’ – Debut Album ‘Creep Call’ Drops 4th October

Are you ready to dive headfirst into the sonic chaos that is Newcastle upon Tyne’s scum rock deviants Louse? You better be as The Shaman is beyond ecstatic to be premiering You Don’t Eat The Bull, the first single taken from their nine-track debut album Creep Call that’s set to be unleashed on the 4th October through Riot Season.

It’s raw, feral and unapologetic, but if you don’t believe me, the band has the following to say about what they’ll terrorise you with over the next four and a bit minutes…

‘The Bull is, amongst other things, a rumination on perfecting a cannibalistic diet, via the lens of Giallo-flicks, sinister phonecalls and cabaret from hell. Admiral Atko captured this perfectly in the video – acres of sleaze, static and leather. The LP (and this track in particular) is the epitome of honed/toned single-riff scum-rock (if a riff is this good, why bother with a second); inspiring hip-shakes, thrown cocktails, absolutely no spin-kicks or crab walking, and a fucking good time.’

More On Louse & ‘Creep Call’

Louse: Purveyors of the finest cellar-dweller scum rock since 2020; a disgusting cocktail comprised of 4 parts Foot Hair (Box Records) and 2 parts The Shits (Rocket Recordings), served over a capsized cruise-liner.

Described as wielding ‘damp and sticky instruments’, being ‘rotten from the inside’ and sonically ‘stinking drunk, shirtless with no shoes, crawling around in your head’, Louse gleefully pummel one riff into oblivion, deranged howls and punishing buzzsaw guitars growl over driving disco beats and slide bass. A carnival in an open sewer.

Creep CallLouse’s debut album, after various tapes, live recordings and a split 10” lathe cut with The Shits – is a true statement of intent. Presented by the magnificent Riot Season, the record is the result of a (wasted) life’s work honing and toning the platonic ideal of single-riff noise rock, all wrapped up in a grindhouse, Giallo-flick package.

Briefly elevated from the basement, Creep Call was recorded with James Atkinson at The Station House Studio in 2023 and mastered by S. Bishop, so the carnage has never sounded better. Perfectly balanced ugliness drenched in feedback, pumped up with The Stooges keys and sax (honk honk) – the closest thing to experiencing the deafening, goofy, beer-soaked-undergarment chaos of a Louse show first hand.
