Video Premiere: DEADPOP ‘TOMAHAWK’ – Debut Album ‘OHM’ Unleashes 11th April
The wait is over. DEADPOP, a scathing bass and drums noise-rock wrecking ball, are officially here with TOMAHAWK, the first feral blast from their upcoming debut album. Hailing from London and armed with a sound that’s equal parts chaos, distortion and pure ferocity, DEADPOP are kicking down the door with reckless abandon.

With the simple title OHM, the duo’s inaugural offering drops eight unfiltered and unrepentant anthems that will be ushered into your consciousness on the 11th April through Human Worth. And the video? It’s as wild as the track itself – filmed on a trailer hitched to a truck, tearing down roads with the band thrashing on the move. It’s loud, ridiculous, and impossible to look away from – exactly how DEADPOP intended.
But if don’t believe me, director Remy Lamont had this to say, ‘Working with DEADPOP was a rare treat. They came with only two conditions: 1) They had almost no money. 2) They’d do absolutely anything I wanted – music to my ears. Naturally, this led to one conclusion: strap a highly illegal trailer to a truck we ‘rented’ online, shove the band in the back, and hit the road for an impromptu adventure to see what would happen’.
Adding, ‘Nothing was planned – everything was a happy accident. We met dog handlers, crashed a brewery, hijacked Sainsbury’s and played an impromptu gig at a garage. Pure, unfiltered chaos. An unforgettable experience with great people. DEADPOP are legends!’
Now turn up the volume before hitting play and let DEADPOP melt your face off with TOMAHAWK. Dedicated to Bradley 2009-2025, gone but not forgotten…
More On DEADPOP And ‘OHM’
DEADPOP is the creation of Sam Mathys and Paul Antony (Ghold, Bruxa Maria, Test Dept). Their debut record Ohm is a collation of both artist’s influences, which first began in 2022. What started as experimental sessions turned into a real connectivity between the duo.
Mathys’ thrashing bass style, paired with Antony’s ever hard-hitting drum rhythms packs a real punch, delivering an array of brilliantly hard-hitting riffs and fun solid grooves. This is further enhanced Wayne Adams’ production (Petbrick/Big Lad) and mastering by Jon Hamilton (Part Chimp).

In the words of DEADPOP “The project aims to put the fun back into heavy, with punk inspired song structures, pop sensibilities and heavy riffs. The album dances around the absurdity of modern life, touching on social constructs, but also taking the piss out of absolutely everything. We also play around with the concept of modern-day freedom. It is an exploration of how we balance societal pressures with freedom of expression and freedom from the digital world”.
Brighton based Human Worth have pressed up a super limited edition cassette, with 10% of all proceeds donated to the Music Venue Trust – a UK registered charity which acts to protect, secure and improve Grassroots Music Venues.
