Tilburg Trakteert: Where Purgatory Ends – The Art Of Costin Chioreanu At Roadburn 2012
Costin Chioreanu’s Where Purgatory Ends exhibition is travelling to Tilburg after highly acclaimed appearances at various events in Alba Iulia (Transylvania), Helsinki, New York and Bucharest. The series of large black canvases featuring images that represent significant moments in the young artist’s life will be on display in Tilburg’s VVV visitor center.
Some of these beautifully rendered works are dreams waiting to materialize, whereas others are idealized utopian visions. The majority, however, are memories that simply needed to be set free. Costin Chioreanu is Roadburn’s official visual artist this year alongside Michel “Away” Langevin.
This exhibition was made possible by the Tilburg Trakteert (“Tilburg’s Treat”) campaign. Launched in 2003, the campaign was conceived to draw attention to unique cultural happenings in the city of Tilburg. We are proud to be recognized this year.
See Where Purgatory Ends for yourself from Saturday, April 7 to Saturday, April 14 at Tilburg’s VVV visitor center, Nieuwlandstraat 34. Open: Monday (1pm – 6pm), Tuesday to Friday (9:30am – 6pm) and Saturday (10am – 4pm).
