Doom, metal, serial killers, distortion, riffs, terror, grooves, doom, serial killers, doom, hair, gurning, serial killers and DOOM.
If this is your idea of a heavy metal shopping list, then Japan’s almighty CHURCH OF MISERY is the psychopathically-run, one-stop shop for all the boogie-laden sludge you’ll ever need. Despite having been around since 1995 in one incarnation or another, it wasn’t until the likes of the atom-stomping Masters of Brutality (2001), the gruesome Vol.1 (2007) and the deafening Houses of the Unholy (2009) that these Tokyo Godzillas really reared their ugly heads up and laughed into the shallow graves of doom-hungry urchins the world over.
Still busy blowing the smoke from both barrels of their gear-shifting 2013 album Thy Kingdom Scum, CHURCH OF MISERY are back once again to haunt and to pillage our clubs, our ears and our minds with their jaw-thumping live performances. It’s not just a privilege to welcome them back to Camden Town for their second DesertFest appearance in three years; it’s a blood-stained honour. So don your Sunday best and come shake out your murderous sins down at the front – the Church is in session.
DesertFest London 2014 takes place over the weekend of the 25th-27th April 2014 across 3 venues in Camden, London and weekend passes are available from Leeds Tickets HERE.
