L.A.’s Space/Prog/Stoner/Fusion Alchemists Intronaut Confirmed For Roadburn 2013
Roadburn are extremely happy to welcome L.A.’s space / prog / stoner / fusion alchemists Intronaut to the 2013 Roadburn Festival on Thursday, April 18 at the 013 venue in Tilburg, Holland.
With the release of 2010s Valley Of Smoke (their 3rd full length), Intronaut cemented a unique niche in the world of post-metal. They feature an amazing ability to change styles, rhythms and genres at the drop of a hat, yet their outrageously good songwriting makes it all seem completely smooth and natural. Similarly, they have loads of musical ability and superior chops but they never get wrapped up ind pointless wankery, instead, everything they do is in service of their exceptionally good songs.
Prepare to journey far and wide through the sounds of stoner, prog, post-rock, psych, jazz fusion, and even technical death metal with the flawless guidance of supreme musical craftsmen who seem to exist to write great songs. Intronaut will appeal to fans of all forms of metal music, and armed with their stellar arsenal of great songs, they will lead us on an epic voyage when they come to Roadburn, undoubtedly leaving behind blown minds and a large smoking crater on the stage.
Intronaut has entered the studio to begin working on their fourth full length album. Vocalist and guitarist Sacha Dunable comments: “After a year of intense, full-time writing mode, we are elated to begin recording our fourth full length this week. It’s a little early to have perspective on how it compares to our past records, but it should be a banger. Expect a wildly technical, emotionally charged, organic sounding record.”
The new album is tentatively scheduled for a Spring 2013 release. Intronaout recently posted a video of a rehearsal, where they’re practicing a new song. The footage can be seen below.
Roadburn Festival 2013 will run for four days from Thursday, April 18th to Sunday, April 21st, 2013 (the traditional Afterburner event) at the 013 venue in Tilburg, Holland. Tickets for the Afterburner are still available!
