The Home of Metal conference will be taking place1-4 September, Home of Metal: Heavy Metal and Place will explore various themes of the music and its unique birthplace, taking place in Wolverhampton. Two panel discussions will also be taking place as part of the conference and weekender. Friday 2 September, budding music journalists can catch Exploring Heavy Metal: an insight into music journalism where writers will provide valuable insights into the world of music journalism, featuring Alex Milas, the editor of Metal Hammer, John Doran of The Quietus and more. Saturday 3rd September sees a unique opportunity to hear internationally renowned artists discuss their recent works with In conversation with Mark Titchner, Nicholas Bullen and Damien Deroubaix. Tickets for both panels are available now and are only £5 – places must be booked in advance TICKETS.

Home of Metal needs you!
We are looking for a small team of dedicated volunteers to assist with the delivery of our Home of Metal Black Country Weekender. The events will take place at various venues across the Black Country from Thursday 1st September – Sunday 4th September, comprising of an academic conference, film screenings, panel discussions, family friendly activities and more.
