Gaz Jennings’ Death Penalty To Channel Doom And Trad Metal At Roadburn Festival 2015

Roadburn 2015 - Death Pealty
Adopting Witchfinder General‘s 1982 debut album title as the band’s name, Death Penalty – led by former Cathedral riff-meister Gaz Jennings, and completed by Serpentcult veteran Frederik “Cozy” Cosemans on drums, bassist Raf Meukens and the band’s not-so-secret weapon, Serpentcult vocalist Michelle Nocon – will unleash their heavily metallic assault of Sabbathian metal at the 20th edition of Roadburn on Saturday, April 11 at the 013 venue in Tilburg, The Netherlands.

“It is an honour and a privilege for Death Penalty to be a part of Roadburn 2015″, says Gaz Jennings, “without doubt the best festival ever. We look forward to ripping the place apart “

Death Penalty‘s inspiration certainly comes from 80’s European metal such as Acid, Ostrogoth, Warning, H Bomb, and of course the NWOBHM, adding different flavors and textures to the band’s main influences; Black Sabbath and Witchfinder General.

Death Penalty‘s self-titled debut album, out on Rise Above Records, is easily one of the best metal albums of 2014, and Walter & co at Roadburn HQ simply can’t wait for ultimate “riff-finder-general” Jennings and the others to bring their headbanging battery to the 2015 festival. Welcome to the gallow’s pole!

Roadburn Festival 2015 will run for four days from Thursday, April 9 to Sunday, April 12 at the 013 venue, Het Patronaat and Cul de Sac in Tilburg, The Netherlands. Get your tickets HERE.
