DEAD MEADOW Premieres New Song ‘Mr. Chesty’; Announces New Double Album ‘Warble Womb’ + Live Dates

Dead Meadow

Los Angeles psych-rock outfit Dead Meadow has premiered a brand new song (titled “Mr. Chesty”) via their label, Xemu Records. Resurfacing from a long inner trip, this is the band’s first new material since their ambitious LP + DVD project, The Three Kings (Xemu Records 2010). It is also the first glimpse into the band’s forthcoming double-album to be titled Warble Womb.

Listen to “Mr. Chesty” below or over on the Xemu Records website at http://xemu.com.

With the track is the news of a week-long series of live dates through California, titled “The DIY or Die Tour” for this February. The upcoming tour will feature new material from Warble Womb and the shows will be supported by new Xemu Records signees (and Dead Meadow comrades), Strangers Family Band and Matthew J. Tow.

A release date for Warble Womb is to be announced shortly and will come out via Xemu Records and licensed in North America via The End Records. It marks the first album to feature returning original member and contributing songwriter Mark Laughlin (drums) since 2001’s Howls From The Hills. The reunited original trio of Laughlin, Jason Simon (guitar/vocals) and Steven Kille (bass) released the following statement on the new material. “The new material will strike many as a return to the heavier side of our first albums. However, it still retains a good deal of the psych-pop element that was more prominent on our Matador Records releases. The way Warble Womb came out, we are viewing it as almost a follow-up to Howls from the Hills.”

Since the release of The Three Kings, Dead Meadow has toured the U.S. and Europe with The Black Angels, Sweet Apple, Spindrift, The Strangers Family Band, Super Furry Animals, BJM, Dino Jr. and more. Confirmed tour dates appear below
