A gathering of young, transatlantic souls collided in late 2011, and between them have evoked the long-lost spirits of their predecessors – Aretha Franklin, Fleetwood Mac, Zepellin, Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Cream. They have created one of the most vital and talked about bands in the underground music scene today. Their journey has now led BLUES PILLS to signing a worldwide record deal with Nuclear Blast Records, who are proud to announce the release of the band’s new 4-track EP ‘Devil Man‘, on October 21st, 2013 and will be available as a strictly limited 10” gatefold grey vinyl and digital download.

BLUES PILLS cross a spectrum of genres, whilst breaking new ground with their creative intuition when songwriting. The American-Swedish-French quartet inhabits it’s very own, intense and extraordinary sphere of rock, harvesting their bluesy roots while bringing a major mainstream appeal. Driving bass lines, grooving drums and out-of-this-world-guitar solos by the (just) 18-year-old Dorian Sorriaux, harmonized and merged with the outstanding voice of Elin Larsson.

Commented the band: “‘Devil Man’ was one of the first songs we wrote, but it’s still one of our favorites to play. It’s just a simple riff, with a good melody, played with lots of energy. The message is simple, and it’s about anyone who you consider to be your enemy! ‘The River’ is the softest and saddest song we have. The lyrics are basically about searching for answers to life’s questions. ‘Time Is Now’ is all about living in the present, and enjoying the moment. Live today! ‘Dig In’ – we tried to play with the dynamics of the song quite a bit. It showcases our delicate side as well as our heavy side. The lyrics are about living according to your own beliefs as opposed to what you are told to believe, and not blindly buying into something.“
