Fronted by 22-year old Roasalie Cunningham, PURSON explore the recesses of reality set to a soundtrack seeped in the three B’s – Beatles, Bowie and Black Sabbath. Their music is a heady brew of folk, psych, prog and glam, among other influences from the golden age of rock, yet it rarely encroaches on pastiche. They possess the songcraft, intoxicating charm and fierce authenticity to rise above the rest. With wisdom far beyond their tender years, they take you on a sonorous and idyllic tour of the psyche, creating a marriage of dream and nightmare that threatens to turn into a bad trip at any point.
PURSON released their debut album, The Circle & The Blue Door, in April of this year. The album was recorded and produced by band member Rosalie Cunningham, and Ed Turner at the Shiftworks Studio in London.
An extremely limited ‘gig only’ 7″ of The Contract/Blueprints of the Dream will be on sale exclusively at the Rise Above Records 25th Anniversary show on Saturday December 28th. It will not be available anywhere else, other than the gig.
