ENVOYS To Release Debut Album Violescent; Pre-Orders Still Available

Envoys

Leeds based post metal quartet ENVOYS have put the finishing touches to debut album Violescent and are set to release the album on 29th July 2013 on Vinyl, CD & Digital Download. A completely self produced and released affair, recording for the album began in September 2012, with the recording process needing plenty of time to not only work within the means of a self financed band, but also to encapsulate a tonally rich and twisting album recorded in the most organic way as possible.

Following on from an acclaimed live rehearsal room demo released in late 2011, Violescent was honed through several gigs and writing sessions, with the band being able to showcase the complex, dynamic and weaving forms that was defining an individual sound. Plenty of care was taken to accurately reproduce the live feel of the band, with different locations and techniques used to capture natural instrument and room sounds, whilst bringing in flourishes of vocals to the largely instrumental songs along with other instruments such as cellos, trumpets and keys, added extra dimension to a band already likened Russian Circles, Don Caballero, Pelican and Cult of Luna.

The album felt worthy of a release on Vinyl as well as CD and, with the band opting to see the project through on a their own limited budget, a pre-sale began in May 2013 and a humbling response allowed the Vinyl to be pressed with Gatefold packaging to tie the music in with the complimentary artwork. Due to restrictions of the format, the Vinyl is a 6-track affair, which comes with a free download of the full, 7-track, 46-minute album and Pre-Orders are available at THIS LOCATION.

With a solid live reputation in place already, several UK and European dates are planned to take Violescent out on the road for the rest of the year and on into 2014 and an Album release gig is set for 2nd August @ The Packhorse in Leeds.
