BLACK MAGICIAN Premier New Demo Track ‘Four Thieves Vinegar’

Black Magician

BLACK MAGICIAN maybe a new name to many people, hailing from Liverpool, this despondent quartet of folk loving hippies plough a deep and heavy field of devastating riffs and magikal rhythms to transport the listener into an old world state of doom and despair.

The band have now released the demo track ‘Four Thieves Vinegar’ which you can stream below, it clocks in at just under 10 minutes and the band commented on the track…

“In folklore, Four Thieves Vinegar is the secret potion for warding off the plague when robbing the houses of the dead…..there is a strange and captivating feeling to be found in the dark folk annals of English history; call it zeitgeist if you will. We can’t help but being obsessed with old forgotten rotting churches, devil-seats, plague burial pits, chime hours, hobgoblins and black shucks! A lot of bands may sing about witches, but we dig them up and dance with their bones.”

BLACK MAGICIAN will be heading into Full Stack Studio with Matt Richardson (Bastard of the Skies, The Lamp of Thoth) at the end of the month to record their, as yet untitled, debut LP with the plan to have it released during the summer of 2012, more news to follow soon.

You can also catch BLACK MAGICIAN, along with Slabdragger, Bow & Arrow, Black Veins and Iron Witch at the Wolstenholme Creative Space, Liverpool on Friday 30th March 2012 and there’s a Facebook Event set up for the gig HERE.
